The Wegovy Pill is the first oral GLP-1 medication approved for weight management in the UK. It contains semaglutide 25mg — the same active ingredient as Wegovy injections — taken as a once-daily tablet. It was approved by the MHRA on 11 June 2026. Unlike Rybelsus (oral semaglutide for diabetes), the Wegovy Pill is specifically licensed for weight loss.

The Wegovy Pill is newly MHRA approved (June 2026) and UK pharmacies are beginning to stock it. Early indications suggest prices may range from £130 to £270 per month for the 25mg dose, depending on the pharmacy and whether consultation fees are included. Eli Lilly is expected to submit for MHRA approval in mid-2026, with a potential UK launch in late 2026 or 2027.
